Arkansas Federal Credit Union started as Little Rock Air Force Base Federal Credit Union in March of 1956 by seven airmen. During our first year of operation there was only one employee who was housed in a room in the airman’s barracks and our total assets at the end of our first month was $579.79. Fast forward 60 years and AFCU has 14 service center locations, we serve over 90,000 members from over 600 employer/associational groups and our assets are in excess of $950 million. A lot has transpired in our 60 year history, but we have never forgotten from where we came.
When LRAFB FCU was established in 1956 we served only the men and women of LRAFB, their families and the civilian personnel of the base. Through multiple mergers that expanded our membership base to include both state and federal employees throughout Arkansas, the complexion of Little Rock Air Force Base FCU changed dramatically. In October 1991, the board of directors decided in order to better describe the membership of our changing credit union that a name change to Arkansas Federal Credit Union was in order.
AFCU strives to provide the products and services that make it easier for our member’s to do business with us. As AFCU continues to grow and develop we keep in mind that we are here to serve our members and through that service we provide homage to our original sponsor and the great men and women of LRAFB. AFCU strives to offer a wide variety of products and services to its members that are able to help them accomplish their financial goals.

Arkansas Federal Credit Union is identified by a distinctive logo. The purpose of the logo is to establish a unified corporate identity and to provide instant recognition of the company.
The logo and its approved variations are available upon request by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org with Attn: Marketing Dept. in the subject line.
The logo may be used in its three color format as shown or in a single color of blue or black. Arkansas Federal Credit Union official corporate colors and the colors of the 3-color logomark are Pantone® Reflex Blue, Pantone® 186 Red and Black.
The Arkansas Federal Credit Union primary brand mark exists in two 1-color logomarks. One logomark is printed in solid black. The other signature is printed in Pantone® Reflex Blue.
The Arkansas Federal Credit Union logo is also available in two other configurations, each of which may be used when available space requires a more vertically or horizontally oriented logomark.
We at Arkansas Federal Credit Union are proud of our tradition of excellence as a member-owned financial services provider. It's a tradition built on our unwavering commitment to serve the financial needs of our members, and the core values we strive to uphold each day. Symbolic of that tradition, the Arkansas Federal logo and visual identity convey not just our name, but our distinguished corporate image. Thus, as our most visible and valuable branding tool, we make it our mission to always present our visual identity at its best.
Red, white and blue. The Stars and Stripes. The majestic bald-headed eagle. Each is a distinctive, compelling American symbol, an unmistakable hallmark of our patriotic tradition. And it is these symbolic elements, beautifully showcased within the Arkansas Federal Credit Union logomark, that provide evidence of our steadfast commitment to the men and women who selflessly serve their country at Little Rock Air Force Base.
As the cornerstone of our distinctive brand identity, the Arkansas Federal logo functions as the most memorable visual representation of who we are, what we do, and what we stand for. Each graphic component of the logo has been carefully chosen to promote a singular feature of our institution's identity. The border of the logo clearly replicates the shape of our home state and namesake, while also emphasizing the makeup of our valued membership as employees of the State of Arkansas.
And just as the waving flag element evokes feelings of pride and ownership, the eagle head reinforces our corporate image as one of strength, stability and trustworthiness. The verbal component of our logo defines us even further. The words "Credit Union" signify that we are committed, passionately and expressly, to the credit union movement and the principles which distinguish it. We at Arkansas Federal Credit Union exist to serve our member-owners' needs in the cooperative spirit.
The easiest way to join Arkansas Federal Credit Union is by visiting one of our service centers. To join, please have a government issued photo ID for all people who intend to be on the account.
