Why are you replacing my existing card with a new Mastercard®?

We’ve partnered with Mastercard to better serve you. Your replacement card will allow us to provide you with uninterrupted service as we work with Mastercard to enhance the benefits and services available to you as a valued Arkansas Federal member.

What do I do now?

Watch for your new Mastercard credit card to arrive in the mail. Then on or after April 28, 2019, call from your phone number on file to activate your new Mastercard credit card, and begin using it wherever Mastercard is accepted. It’s that easy. If you have any additional questions, please drop by one of our branch locations or give us a call at (800) 456-3000.

Why do I need to call from a phone number on file?

This is for your security and protection. If you have any questions about phone numbers are associated with your account, feel free to drop by a branch or call us at (800) 456-3000.

Where will my new Mastercard credit card(s) be delivered?

Your new credit card(s) will be delivered to the same place your renewed VISA credit cards would have been delivered. If you have any questions about where that might be, feel free to drop by a branch or call us at (800) 456-3000.

When should I receive my card(s)?

You will receive communication from us prior to your new cards being sent out. We are reissuing all cards over a period of time, so you may find that some of your cards come earlier than others, but you will receive similar communications for all of them, before the cards are mailed out.

Will anything change about my personal cards and accounts?

All current cardholders will have their cards replaced. Part of the benefit of this change is that it allows us to offer you even more than you have today! Mastercard offers us the ability to pass along even more benefits to cardholders.

My employees and I all have cards for my business, will we all get new cards?

Yes! All active cards will be replaced.

Can I continue to use my Visa?

Yes, you can continue to utilize your Visa credit card until April 28, 2019. Please activate your new Mastercard credit card on or after April 28, 2019, to avoid any inconvenience. Your current Visa credit card is scheduled to be closed on April 28, 2019.

When can I activate my new credit card?

You can activate your new Mastercard credit card on or after April 28, 2019. Remember to provide your new credit card number to any merchants who automatically bill your existing card. And, don’t forget to update any previously established one-time or recurring payments to your new credit card.

Is there any other information regarding activation that I need to be aware of?

If you are a Primary Cardholder, you will need to use your personal information to activate your new MasterCard Credit Cards.

If you are a Secondary Cardholder, you will need to use your personal information to activate your new MasterCard Credit Cards.

If you are an Authorized User, you will need to use the primary cardholder’s information to activate your new Mastercard Credit Cards.

Will my credit card number change?

Yes, your 16-digit card number, expiration date and CVV code will change.

When is the last day to use my Visa credit card?

April 27, 2019.

What should I do with my old VISA card(s)?

Once you have activated and PINned your new card, please cut up and discard your old Visa credit card. All Visa credit cards are scheduled to be deactivate on April 28, 2019.

I have multiple debit and credit cards - will they all be replaced?

Yes, all debit, credit and HSA cards will be replaced with new Mastercard branded cards.

If I receive more than one credit card, how do I know which credit card account it is linked to?

Drop by a branch or call us at (800) 456-3000 and we'll be happy to answer any questions you have!

What should I do about charges automatically billed to my old card?

You must provide your new card number, expiration date, and security code to companies (like online service providers, newspapers, or the phone company) that automatically bill your card.

How do I PIN my new card?

Call (800) 456-3000 and follow the instructions on the phone.

I have recurring charges set up on my credit card(s). Will these continue?

Our project will take advantage of Mastercard's service to automatically update this information to minimize any service impact on our cardholders. However, we can't be guaranteed that all of the merchants processing these recurring charges have signed up with Mastercard. So, to be 100% sure you continue to receive all services associated with your recurring charges, we recommend you contact them and update your credit card information.

What are some of the benefits I will enjoy?

Where can I use my new Mastercard?

Your new card offers unsurpassed acceptance for purchases at millions of places wherever Mastercard is accepted, such as restaurants, gas stations, doctors’ offices, department stores, home improvement stores, airlines, hotels, and online merchants.

How do I keep track of my transactions?

All transactions will be listed on your monthly account statement. Plus, you can check the status of your account, or review transactions 24-hours a day at afcu.org or on Arkansas Federal’s mobile app.

Will the Rewards website be changing?

No.

Will the login for the uChoose Rewards website remain the same?

No, you will need to register your new World MasterCard on the uChoose website to access your rewards. You may reuse your existing login information if you wish.

Will my uChoose points carry over to the new World Mastercard?

Yes, points accrued under the Visa Signature card will carry over to the new World Mastercard once activated. Your points should be converted by May 15, 2019.

What should I do if my card becomes lost or stolen?

You should contact Arkansas Federal immediately by calling (800) 456-3000.

What should I do if I don't get my card(s) or get some card(s) but not others?

You may find that some of your cards come earlier than others, but you should receive all of your cards by April 25, 2019. If you do have any concerns though, please drop by one of our branches or call us at (800) 456-3000.

Will Visa alerts transfer to the new program?

No, any previously established Visa alerts will not transfer. We will have a new alerts tool available in the near future, please check back later on how you can re-establish alerts.

Will my credit score be affected by this change?

Absolutely not. This card replacement activity will not result in any changes to your credit bureau score. Think of it as the same type of activity as a normal, everyday card renewal - we're just getting you a new piece of plastic!

How do I register for my Mastercard benefits and rewards?

No need to register! If you have an Arkansas Federal Mastercard credit card you are automatically enrolled for the Mastercard benefits that go along with it!!

How do I claim my Mastercard benefits?

Simply call 1-800-Mastercard: (800) 627-8372 or log on to www.mycardbenefits.com to take advantage of the benefits that come with your card!
