Golf Classic is a Huge Success
Giving back to the communities we serve is just one way that Arkansas Federal Credit Union strives to be the difference. On October 21st we hosted our 14th annual charity Golf Classic benefiting Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) at Chenal Country Club. This year’s successful tournament was presented by Fiserv and saw 22 teams vying for the win, while raising more than $72,000 for ACH.
In 2017, Arkansas Federal entered into a multi-year commitment to provide $300,000 in funding to help with the renovation of the Teen Room on the hospital’s 3rd floor. Created for patients ages 13 through 18, the Teen Room provides a teen-friendly environment where patients can engage with peers, participate in teen-related activities and enjoy much-needed downtime while being treated at the hospital.
“Our purpose is to make a difference in the communities where we live and work, and our decades-long support of Arkansas Children’s Hospital is one way we fulfill that purpose,” said Rodney Showmar, president and CEO of Arkansas Federal. “The Teen Room at Arkansas Children’s Hospital enables patients to experience a sense of normalcy during their stay, and we’re proud to help ensure it will remain a vital part of their care.”
The impact that Arkansas Federal donations have made on the family-centered care at ACH has been significant. Since 1998, Arkansas Federal has contributed more than $1.1 million dollars to the hospital in support of their many projects. In the more than 20-year relationship, Arkansas Federal donations have purchased isolettes and NICVIEW camera system for use in the NICU, total body cooling systems for use in CVICU and NICU, as well as funding the ENT waiting room.
Thank you to our members, employees, and golf tournament sponsors for your generous support. Without your support, the impact that we have made on the lives of our fellow Arkansan’s would not have been possible.
