JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (April 7, 2017) — Arkansas Federal Credit Union (AFCU) is pleased to announce the donation of $47,281.81 to Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH).
Since 1998, AFCU has contributed nearly $950,000 to ACH. This year’s donation will help fund ACH’s investment in Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA), a new technology to provide improved ventilator management for neonatal care. The benefits of NAVA ventilation include lung protection and improved comfort for babies being treated for respiratory issues.
“Thanks to AFCU’s continued support of Arkansas Children’s Hospital, we are able to invest in this new approach to ventilator therapy,” said Randy Willis, director of respiratory care, MBA, RRT-NPS, AE-C, of ACH. “With this new technology, we will be able to more effectively ventilate the kids, wean them from the ventilator earlier, and avoid the complications of long-term vent use.”
“It’s through the continued generosity of our employees, members and vendors that AFCU is able to give back to our communities,” said Rodney Showmar, president and chief executive officer, for AFCU. “AFCU’s purpose is to be the difference for our members and communities, and I am blessed to be part of an organization that prioritizes that purpose above all.”
AFCU is the largest financial cooperative and one of the largest financial institution in Arkansas with more than $1.1 billion in total assets and more than 280 employees. AFCU has 14 service centers throughout Arkansas, which serve more than 95,000 members.
